SHOPPING IN ISTANBUL

HOW 2007 CHANGED MY LIFE AROUND......

hahaa...i bet you all are thinking...'oh dear..i wonder what happened to this poor lil'rich girl....'nothing much  but something what happens to all..MARRIAGE....!!
Mine was a kick ass one....a  whirlwind romance..being literally....met in june,,,engaged in july..married on paper in august and left my parents house 2 months in november... 2 days later flying off for our honeymoon to magical Istanbul...
Magical....it surely was...where every mosque you went to was a reawakening to your soul and kindled your mind to what all those walls may have seen...heard and felt and lived on to never tell the truth expect what we've read or heard in history books.

I could go on and on for pages about Istanbul...but think not!!
Food was the best ever...from their street food at Istikilal street to the Lil'cafes tucked away in the streets along side the Sultan Ahmet mosque..

I just realized that hussain and I did not feel the need to go any clubs or any thing indoors...
we loved being out...walking the cobble stone streets around the Grand Bazaar.Grand Bazaar..I thought would be something of a flea market...but i entered that place just to be greeted by stores such as Chopard and Cartier...I WASNT PREPARED for that....here i wanted to take a sneak peak and there was hussain pulling me by hand in the opposite direction..
I did manage to visit Chopard..they had they most prettiest pair of dainty chandelier styled daimond emerald earrings..identical to a pair you would read about in some classic english novelist's description of some debutant making her debut appearance in English society....this certain pair cost $5000...sighhh....!!We carried on walking..
...i DID buy an extremely sexy pair of D&G gold shoes from a store on a boulevard near Sultan Bayazid's tomb......$300 and a very over the top sexy leather jacket with a fur collar which i never wore much in the winters of my dear city Islamabad..for $500....yeah!!

Such were amongst the many delights of our honeymoon in Istanbul...

  1. Istanbul is such a delightful city - didn't know u were there for your honeymoon. Would be a neat place for a family reunion - one can walk Istiqlal St all night long, after a long trip to the Grand Bazaar!
